5 Ways to Celebrate Halloween in Traverse City, Michigan

Halloween is just around the corner and there are plenty of ways to have some holiday fun. From ghost tours to corn mazes and carriage rides in your Halloween best, here are five ways to celebrate Halloween in Traverse City, Michigan:

13th Annual Zombie Run

Hosted by the Right Brain Brewery, the Annual Traverse City Zombie 5K Run is back from the dead after going virtual last year. Put on your best undead look and join other gruesome faces for a day full of zombies, running, and beer. Make sure to stick around after the race for the medal ceremony, costume prizes, refreshments, and socializing with other spirits. Plus, all proceeds from this event will go to TART Trails!

Jacob’s Corn Mazes

The corn maze at Jacob’s Farm has been a local favorite for years. The 10-acre maze is developed using computer-aided design technology and changes from year-to-year. This year, there is even a Mini Maze that is perfect for families with toddlers and small children. Give yourself plenty of time as it can take up to two hours to navigate through the trails. The farm itself has plenty of food, drinks, and other refreshments for a full day of family-friendly fun.

Screams in the Dark

With 5 attractions ranging from the Swamp of Suffering and Dreadmoore Manor to the haunted hayride and trail, there’s something to frighten everyone at the Screams in the Dark Haunted Attractions. The haunted house is located at the Northwestern Michigan Fairgrounds. So grab your friends, family, and children and get ready to scream and dodge the ghosts and goblins that pop out of the dark.

The last two weekends in October can get very busy with long wait times. So visit earlier in the month to experience all the terrifying fun.

Ghost Farm of Kingsley

Founded in 2010, The Ghost Farm of Kingsley is Traverse City’s premier theatrical haunted house attraction. This year’s theme is Camp Terra, a beautiful summer camp in the heart of the woods. But the farm has other plans. Are you brave enough to follow the trail into the dark and eerie woods?

The Ghost Farm is open every Friday and Saturday in October 2021. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes as the trail has uneven surfaces full of tree roots.

Fall Fun Saturdays at Crystal Mountain

Crystal Mountain, a family-owned, four-season resort located 28 miles southwest of Traverse City, is hosting Fall Fun Saturday’s all throughout October 2021. Some of the main activities include bike rides to see all of the beautiful fall foliage, archery, wagon rides, ziplining, wall climbing, and laser tag. There is also pumpkin carving and a Scarecrow Walk to get you in the Halloween mood. Click here for the full schedule and pricing
