The Fairfield Theatre Co.
The Fairfield Theatre Co. (FTC), located under two miles from the DELAMAR Southport, unites our local community of musicians, actors, artists, and writers – and their fans and supporters, the good theatre-goers of Southport. FTC venues include StageOne and the Warehouse, and upcoming shows include 70’s rocker Ian Hunter and the Rant Band (Nov. 24), soul singer Brother Joscephus (Nov. 25), a Pink Floyd laser show (Dec. 2), and an adventure film series.
Westport Playhouse
Occupying a marvelous 19th-century tannery building, later reborn as a theater in 1931, the Westport Playhouse presents plays, musicals, workshops, and other year-round theatrical offerings. Its spring-through-fall season of live theater wraps up on Nov. 19 with Romeo & Juliet; sometime after, the Playhouse will unveil its 2017-2018 lineup of its all-ages Family Festivities series, which kicks off with an apropos presentation of A Christmas Carol (Dec. 17).
The Ridgefield Playhouse
The Ridgefield Playhouse offers a packed and varied calendar of opera and ballet simulcasts, classic movies, community events, and concerts headlined by internationally renowned musicians. Upcoming acts include Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience (Nov. 26), Rufus Wainwright (Nov. 30), and special holiday celebrations, including John Tesh’s Grand Piano Christmas (Dec. 1) and Jane Lynch’s Swingin’ Little Christmas (Dec. 2). The Playhouse will also screen the Met Opera’s The Exterminating Angel (Nov. 22) and the Bolshoi Ballet’s Taming of the Shrew (Nov. 25).

When you’re in the mood for art, Southport Galleries promises world-class offerings just a short stroll from DELAMAR Southport. Current exhibitions include a wide range of contemporary art in the vintage, repurposed setting of the old Harris Hardware store.
