Movies & Performing Arts

• The State Theatre & Bijou By The Bay are perfect stops for a midday matinee of any blockbuster hit you don’t want to miss out on. Awarded the title of Best Movie Theatre by Motion Picture Association of America, the State Theatre is over a one-hundred years old, and definitely worth a detour to see its star-studded ceiling.
• Old Town Playhouse nearby also offers live theater should you want to see a staged production, and is currently running a production of Showstoppers through August. No need to feel like you’re missing out if you book your vacation in late summer or early fall, as they’ll be running Agatha Christie’s Murder on The Orient Express come September. 

Outdoor Attractions 

• Clinch Park and West End Beach both offer beachside fun, and bodegas stocked with cart fare and sweets to enjoy. Feel free to check out any of the nearby marinas as you walk the surf too, and see the locals ship off for morning sailing trips. 
• The World’s Largest Pie Tin rests only ten minutes inland from the Traverse City Delamar, and it’s truly a sight to behold. Measuring 14-feet wide, this colossal pie pan needed its own custom oven to bake in, and the massive dessert it housed weighed over 10,000 pounds. Truly a roadside oddity, but this world-record holder is well worth checking out!
