The Delamar hotel in West Hartford is like one-stop shopping for February romance with a twist.
Not to be confused with its neighboring city of East Hartford, West Hartford is more of a suburb. Its picturesque aesthetic is a fusion of New England-lite and Norman Rockwell charm with trendsetting shops, boutiques, and an eclectic culinary scene. Offering proximity to all that Connecticut’s Capital Region has to offer, Delamar is a beacon of exceptional hospitality for the area. The luxury boutique property offers a hotel experience that feels warm and inviting, but before I even got to my room, I was immediately enamored with its walls, hallways, foyers, and palatial lobby with its cozy fireplace. Nearly all those spaces were adorned with original artwork, created by some of the world’s greatest artists; past and present.
Nearby is the Delamar West Hartford, a sleek contemporary boutique hotel, located near upscale Blue Back Square. A quick click on the Delamar website revealed that it has a full-service spa and is home to the buzzing Artisan Restaurant & Tavern. It didn’t take much to convince our book club girlfriends to head west for a short, overnight getaway.
With glossy magazine–worthy common areas and champagne at check-in, Blue Back Square’s long-awaited boutique hotel is astonishingly sophisticated for its suburban location. Even visitors who aren’t staying in the quiet, natural light–filled guest rooms can book a restful session at the hotel’s European-style spa and savor farm-to-table fare at the indoor-outdoor restaurant Artisan.
As you arrive, enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne upon check in, along with other hotel perks including complimentary valet parking, chauffeured Tesla transportation within a 5-mile radius, complimentary breakfast, electric vehicle charging station and nightly turn down service, complete with chocolates on your pillow.
